ETHEL M. HEMENWAY, 94, an artist and musician who was the former mayor of Ramona, north of Old Colorado City, died November 3, 1993.
The funeral will be held at 3pm today at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Melanie Downs officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mrs. Hemenway was born April 18, 1899 in Winona, MN. to Royal W. and Lillian A. (Wells) Green.
She married April 18, 1919, in Denver to Clarence S. Hemenway who is deceased. She is survived by a son Robert W. of Kansas City, MO., a daughter Jeanne A. Downing of Colorado Springs, seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She had two infant sons who are deceased.
Mrs. Hemenway had lived in Colorado Springs since 1918. She was a 70 year member of Glen Eyrie Chapter 8 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she accompanied dance classes, was choir director and played the organ.
