Margaret Stahl, 95, passed away January 5, 2009 peacefully where she was a resident at Holly Hall for the past 16 years. She was born July 14, 1913 in Mobile, Alabama and moved to Texas in 1929.

Margaret graduated from U.T. Austin and was a Bluebonnet Belle. She later earned her Masters degree from Sam Houston State. Margaret was a teacher at Port Houston and Douglas Elementary. She retired from HISD after 24 years of service. She belonged to the College Women's Club of Houston and was a lifetime member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Bernardino and Mary I. Alvarez; 2 sisters, Sister Mary Rita Alvarez, S.S.M.N. and Sister Bernardine Alvarez, S.S.M.N. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Ann Price and husband Scott, Tina Goddard and husband Jim, Lea Marchek and husband Rev. Mr. Michael Marchek, 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:30 PM, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January7, 2009 at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 6700 Ferris St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 8, 2009 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway. The Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
