Mary E. Bean, of Iron Mountain, Michigan, died Oct. 3, 2000, at her home.

Mary Schinderle was born Feb. 11, 1911, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late John and Mary (Kattnig) Schinderle. She lived many years in Manitowoc, Wis., where she worked at Schuette's Department Store and Montgomery Wards. She also lived in California before moving back to Iron Mountain.

She married Harrison Bean Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1982.

She was survived by a brother, Alfred Schinderle of Kingsford; two sisters, Irene Schinderle and Joanna Schinderle, both of Iron Mountain; a son, Harrison (Jane) Bean Jr. of Apple Valley, Calif.; a daughter, Betty (Bob) Kummer of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three nieces, Kay Votaw of LaFayette, Colo., Mary Ann Wyble of Kingsford, and Jean Williamson of Satellite Beach, Fla.; a nephew, David Johnson of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Veronica Schinderle and Eleanor Polglase, and two brothers, John and Albert Schinderle.
