Josephine A. Sears , 93 , died Thursday, February 26, 1998, at the
Four Seasons Health Care Center in Columbus.. She was a resident
of Columbus …
She was born September 11, 1904, in Popcorn.. Her parents were
Orval A. and Elmina (Cromwell) Rainbolt.. She married Charles Sears
on June 1, 1928, in Bedford.. He preceded her in death December 16,
1986.. Survivors include two sons, Charles D. Sears of New Whiteland
and James A. Sears of Franklin ; a brother, George Rainbolt of Greenwood,
11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.. She was preceded in
death by a brother, Carl Rainbolt …
She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Bartholomew
County, Indiana and national retired teachers associations …
She was also a member of the First Christian Church in Columbus,
where she belonged to the Victory Workers Class and the Missionary
Sewing Group.. She was a member of the Columbus Chapter Order
of the Eastern Star, the Opti – Mrs Club, the American Association of
Retired Persons and the New Idea Club …
The Rev. Micharl T. Hogg will conduct a service at 10:30 AM Monday
at Myers Funeral Service, Reed and Jewell Chapel in Columbus…
Friends may call from 1 – 5 PM Sunday and from 9:30 AM until time
of service Monday at the chapel …
Burial will be in the Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus…
