Actor. The son of legendary entertainer Charles Chaplin and actress Lita Grey, he made a name for himself as a successful theatre performer. He won a Tony Award for his role in the Broadway production of "Bells Are Ringing" and received a Tony nomination for "Funny Girl". Born in Los Angeles, Chaplin served in the US Army during World War II. He made his big screen debut in his father's picture "Limelight" (1952), and had further screen roles in "Confession" (1955), "Pillars of the Sky" (1956), "Quantez" (1957), "A Countess from Hong Kong" (1967), "The Adding Maching" (1969) and "So Evil, My Sister" (1974). His other stage credits include "Goodbye, Charlie", "Subways Are for Sleeping" and "In the Counting House". He died of complications from a stroke.
