His father Dr. Joseph Parry was Hymn writer, Piano Pieces, Oratorios and Operas. Born in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. Died in Penarth, Wales. Joseph music 'Llangristiolus' and 'Aberystwyth'. He was a Professor of Music at the University of Wales from (1873 to 1877).

His father and mother Jane Parry are buried at:
St. Augustine's Churchyard, Penarth, Wales
