Louis William Berringer was born in Ludwigburg, Germany, November 4, 1833, and died at his home near Indian Grove, Sunday night, January 26, 1908, aged: 74 years, 2 months, and 22 days. He cane to America in 1854, and settled in New York, where he remained till 1874, when he cane to Missouri, where he made his home till the time of his death.
In 1857 Mr. Berringer was united in marriage to Miss Anna Mary Metzger, and to this union five children were born. They are Mrs Louisa Warren, Emma Edding, and Minnie Knight, Miss Elinora and John L. W. Berringer.
The death of Mr. Berringer takes from the community one of our most honored citizens. He was industrious, upright, a good husband and father, and withal a man of worth to the community in which he lived. Friends and neighbors held him in the highest respect and esteem.
Funeral services were held at Zion Church Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Enyeart, of LaPlata, followed by interment in Zion Cemetery.
