Bobbie Joann went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Tuesday, March 11, 2008, after a long bout with cancer and pulmonary fibrosis.
She was born September 18, 1935 in OKC to Everett and Bertie Burks.
She is survived by her dear husband of 51 years, Wilford one son, Steve, daughter-in-law Brenda, and two special grandchildren Tyler (17) and Alexis (13) a sister, Faye Blair a niece, Carolyn Qamoos and her husband Jamon, and great-nieces and nephews.
Joann was a teacher's asst. and secretary at Bethany Bapt. Schools for 7 years before becoming a financial secretary at Windsor Hills Bapt. School for 12 years. She was also secretary at Maranatha Bapt. Church of Western Oaks for a while.
She had a beautiful soprano voice that blessed hearts for more than 40 years. She enjoyed birthday dinners with the ladies, southern gospel music, good natured teasing, and her church, family, and friends. She touched many lives and will be missed until we see her in Heaven.
Funeral Services will be held Sat., March 15, 2008, 10AM at Marantha Baptist Church, 2800 N. Divis, Bethany, OK. with
Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
