Ruby Lorene Rutkofske, age 87, passed away peacefully March 27, 2009 after a short illness.
Oldest daughter of eleven children of the late Grant and Nelly Blevins.

Beloved wife for 56 years of the late John A Rutkofske.

Loving mother of Lonnie W. Rutkofske (Diane) of Marysville, MI, Leigh A DuPon (Peter) of Shelby Twp., MI and Lois (Stacy Royce and Rich) of Oakland, CA.

Grandmother to Michael, Dawn, Heidi, Krista and Peter John, and great-grandmother of six.

She is also survived by one brother and four sisters, and by many nieces and nephews, who along with her friends will miss her greatly.

A nurse during WWII before becoming a mother, she also coordinated many household moves as a Navy wife of 26 years.

She was a Red Cross volunteer during a 3-year stay in Japan, worked at Port Huron Hospital for several years, and most recently was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital.

A memorial will be held at a later date, and her remains will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery beside her husband John.
