Cordelia Cecil, 84, Pine Knot, died May 9 at Scott County Hospital, Oneida. Funeral services were held May 12 at 10 a.m. at Hickman FuneralHome Chapel by the Rev. Wendell Hill. Burial was in Pine Knot Cemetery.
She was born May 10, 1897, in Oneida to the late John Henry Thomas and Minda Foster Thomas. She married Jerome Cecil, September 1916, and resided in Pine Knot for years. She was a homemaker and member of Pine Knot United Baptist Church.Her parents, husband, two sons, one sister, six brothers preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Virgil Cecil, Whitley City, Corene Taylor, Dublin, Va., Irene Martin and Gladys Foster, both of Cincinnati, Agnes Keller, Torrance, Calif., Aileen Cox, Amelia, Ohio, Franklin Cecil, Bethel, Ohio; 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers, James Thomas of Oneida; Gabriel Thomas of Lenior City, TN; Aaron Thomas of Coos Bay, OR ; Cleophia Thomas of Myrtle Creek, OR; two sisters, Lizzie Davidson and Rilda Burke, both of Oneida.
