Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids, for John R. "Jack" Peterson, 67, 209 Fourth Ave. S, Sauk Rapids, who died Monday at St. Cloud Hospital.
The Rev. Daniel Taufen will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Dingmann Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids, Sauk Rapids American Legion will meet at 7 tonight at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids followed by Christian Mothers at 7:30 and parish prayers at 8.
John Peterson was born May 30, 1920 in Fargo, N.D., to Andrew and Elizabeth (Stoderl) Peterson. He married Lucille Lanigan Sept. 24, 1949, in Alexandria and they moved to Sauk Rapids in 1952. He worked for Lakeland Bakery from 1952 to 1964 when he became an agent for State Farm Insurance Co. in Foley and Sauk Rapids. He retired in 1985. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and Korean Conflict and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and member and past commander of American Legion Post 254 if Sauk Rapids.
Survivors include his wife; son and daughter, Michael, Minneapolis; Susan, Boston, Mass.; and sister, Mrs. Joe (Andrena) Kellwood, Phoenix, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Mark Andrew.
Pallbearers will be Tom, Lyle, Jerome and Kevin Lanigan, Tom Heldelberger, Jeff Berg and Brad Fehler.
