MONTEREY -- Funeral services for Daniel Turner Grant, 68, of the Woodcliff Community near Monterey, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tues., Sept. 21, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Woodcliff Cemetery with full military honors by Monterey VFW Post 6277.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today, Mon., Sept. 20, at the funeral home.
Mr. Grant died on Sun., Sept. 19, 1999, at his home.
He was born on March 18, 1931, in Monterey to the late Phillip and Media Neal Grant. Mr. Grant was retired from the City of Cookeville as a heavy equipment operator. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Grant was a member of the Monterey VFW Post 6277, American Legion Post 46, and a member of the Woodcliff Baptist Church.
His family includes his wife, Bessie Golden Grant of the Woodcliff Community; a son, Jason Grant of the Woodcliff Community; three stepdaughters, Shirley Bilbrey and Loretta Randolph, both of Monterey, and Audrey Crye of Crossville; two stepsons, Hank and Jerry Williams, both of Cookeville; two sisters, Dorothy Whittaker and Della Smith, both of Cookeville; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Martin; a son, Gary Grant; a sister, Dora Lee Carr; and a brother, Franklin Grant.
Rev. Randy Roberson will officiate at the services.
