Joseph died Sept. 10, 1842, leaving Marie Helene a widow with at least one young child, Margaret. Feb. 5, 1843, Marie Helene married Nicolaus Bockius at St. Mary of Victories Church in St. Louis.
Marie Helene died within a few years. She was probably originally buried at Rock Springs Cemetery and later transferred to Calvary Cemetery.
