Dorothy Jean Lyons, 74, died peacefully with her family by her bedside July 17, 2004. Born December 27, 1929, in Ogden Utah to Myrl and Norma McClenahan, she moved to Seattle where she married and had four children. "Freckles" (as she was affectionately known) was an avid gardner and nature lover of all creatures great and small. She was preceded in death by both her parents, brother John, and sisters Marjorie and Lucille. She is survived by her brothers Donald and Richard McClenahan, and sister Lois Lawson, former spouse Robert G. Lyons, children Bruce (wife Cynthia) Lyons, Gary Lyons, Keith (wife Jana) Lyons, and Laurie Lyons (husband Michael McLaughlin) eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Her family expresses their gratitude to the kind people who helped care for our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend during her year-long illness and to share with everyone her final words of inspiration "take care of each other." Private memorial service followed by a Celebration of her life to be held July 31, 2004 on the Skykomish River. Please contact family for more information.
