Arthur A. OLDFATHER, 76, Oakwood Apartments, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Hospital, where he had been a patient for 11 days. He was born Nov. 12, 1913 in Rochester to David and Susan ROBINS OLDFATHER. He lived all his life in this community. His first marriage was in 1935 to Opal [McINTYRE], who died in [1952]. In Sept. 1958 he married Sevilla BOOCHER, who died in 1969. On Feb. 17, 1970 he married Orpha L. PFLEDDERER VanGILDER, who died Sept. 20, 1988.
He retired in 1979 from Empire Gas Company, Rochester, where he had been employed for 26 years. He was a member of the First Church of God, Rochester.
Surviving are a granddaughter, Mrs. Keith (Becky) FRANZ, Culver; three great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Mrs. Garland (Barbara) WILSON, Kewanna, and Betty BRADY, Rochester; three step-sons, Kenneth PFLEDDERER, LaCrosse; Jerry PFLEDDERER, Wanatah, and Jack PFLEDDERER, Rochester; seventeen step-grandchildren; twenty-one step-great- grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ella WALLACE and Myrtie HAND, Rochester.
Preceding in death was a daughter.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Rochester First Church of God with the Rev. Harry W. MULLINS officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Rochester. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today and from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, and after noon Tuesday at the church.
