Services for Lela A. Ballard, 83, Grand Saline, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, with Rev. Lynn Mullins officiating. Burial was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Ballard died August 29, 1999 in Grand Saline.
She was born August 5, 1916, in Grand Saline to William Ollie and Pearly Ann Porter Blue. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Myrtle Springs. She was a life-long resident of Van Zandt County. She was active in the Myrtle Springs school activities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, G.o. Ballard, in 1983.
Survivors include sons, Billy Ballard, Houston and Danny Ballard, Lake Palestine; daughters, Jean Bedingfield, Lone Oak, Suzanne Collard, Emory and Kathy Burkham, Canton; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchi ldren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
