Funeral services for Louis Koeser, 74-year-old town of Newton farmer, who died Thursday afternoon at his home, were held Monday afternoon, with services at the Newton church, and burial in the Kiel cemetery. Death was caused by heart disease.
The deceased was born Oct. 20, 1856, in the town of Herman, where he grew to manhood. He was married in 1882 to Miss Caroline Duebner of the town of Newton. The couple lived in Herman for about two years, when they moved to the farm now occupied by their son Herman near Kiel. Here they remained for 28 years, after which they moved to a small 5-acre farm in Newton where they lived ever since.
Twelve children were born to the couple, three of whom died in infancy. Those surviving are; Mrs. August Voelker of Colby, Herman near Kiel, Mrs. Ed. (Sophie) Bebermeier of Millhome, Charles of Newton, Christ near Millhome, Mrs. Jack Schaar of New Holstein, Louis of Newton, John of Plymouth, and Emil of Newton. Surviving brothers are August and Herman of Sheboygan and Carl of School Hill, and surviving sisters are Mrs. Valentine Dickmann of Kiel and Mrs. Carl Witthuhn of Town Mosel. His widow also survives, as do 21 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
