Secretary and faithful friend of actress Maude Adams. Photos are of Ms. Adams.Maude Adams was an actress who achieved her greatest success as the character Peter Pan, first playing the role in the 1905 Broadway production of “Peter Pan; or, The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up.” Adams’s personality appealed to a large audience and helped her become the most successful and highest-paid performer of her day, with a yearly income of more than one million dollars during her peak. Adams had two long-term relationships, with Lillie Florence from 1892 until 1901 (when Lillie died of a terminal illness), and with Louise Boynton (1858-1951) from 1905 to 1951. Though Maude Adams died on her other property in Onteora Park, she was buried with her longtime friend and personal secretary Louise Boynton, back at Sandy Garth in Ronkonkoma, Long Island.
