Former Peru Resident Dies

Mrs. Estella (Tucker) Unger, 83, of Arcadia, former well-known Peru resident, died at 8:15 a.m. Saturday at the Tipton Hospital. She suffered a stroke on January 31.
Mrs. Unger had been a resident of Peru 52 years. She and Mr. Unger moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1945 to make their home with their son, G. Noel Unger. They moved to Arcadia, their former home, February 10, 1953. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Daughters of American Revolution and American Legion Auxiliary, all of Peru.

Surviving are her husband, the son, Noel, of Pittsburgh and their grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held from the Shaffer Funeral Home in Arcadia at 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Rev. A.H. Gallmeier officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery there.

The Kokomo Tribune (Kokomo, Indiana) Monday, March 7, 1955, Page 27.

Same stone type as husband, John Frank Unger, and she does not lie very far from her father, Elias W. Tucker. Father's grave was so badly deteriorated and hard to read, so possibly mother's grave was lost due to elements.

A huge "thank you" to "Redcinder" for originally creating Estella's memorial and to "Dan Prather" for taking and adding a photo of the grave marker to her memorial! It's awesome having wonderful people like these two sharing their talents with others here on Find A Grave!
