Notes: from M Ball Stoddard about where Elizabeth Barnes and Charles Moss maybe buried.in Wood County, WV
"I would be inclined to believe they were buried near her parents in Elizabeth, W VA. Parkersburg was the info I had on my Ball family, also. Turned out they lived and died and were buried in Elizabeth, Wirt Co., W.VA. The old Ball Cemetery is located somewhere near Tucker Creek just outside of Elizabeth. We did not know of it when we visited a few years ago. Everyone was so helpful and friendly at the Courthouse and as we walked back to our RV we were greeted by the current mortician who volunteered any info we might need. It was a super visit. We spent most of one day at the courthouse looking up records. The Ball family were pacifists during the Civil War. When things got rough they left for MO and returned after the war and sold their land and moved to Belleville, KS. There are many still there. We visited them on the same trip. One of the maiden aunts was the family record keeper so gleaned much information. They have an annual get-together, usually in Skan!
dia, KS. I can put you in touch if you are interested.
Have you seen the Ball Book which Emma Margaret Frey put together? There may still be copies available if you are interested.
