Married, 1st, Elda Druzilla Stricker on June 6, 1955 in Wayne County, Indiana. Elda was born July 20, 1925 in Howard County, Ohio. No children.

Married, 2nd, Rocille Louise Voss Dunn on April 1, 1967 and they were the parents of Stacy Bennett.

John H. Bennett, 74, of Jonesville died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at his home.

He had been a union brick layer for many years and after retirement was a self-employed mason. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Christian Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars and an avid fisherman and coon hunter.

The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Garland Brook Cemetery with the Rev. Barbara Grace officiating.

There will be no calling.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements were made by Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home.

Mr. Bennett was born in Glasgow, Ky., May 11, 1926, the son of Milam and Nettie Deckard Bennett.

He married Rocille L. Voss Dunn April 1, 1967. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Stacy Bennett of Jonesville; stepsons, Curt Dunn of Jonesville and Jack Dunn of White Creek; one grandchild; and three stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters.
