George was very successful in establishing the Cotton Commission House in Mobile Alabama. Later he started cotton planting and was a postmaster at Citronnelle, Mobile Co., Alabama.
His military service was in the confereate military and he was ranked as a private in Company A Muldoon's regiment. There is no record of George Byram at the Alabama historical records. However there is a copy of his parole from a North prison. George was residing in Citronelle, Mobile Co., Alabama in 1886.
