The Daily Notes, Canonsburg PA, Saturday 02 October 1915, front page - MRS. JANE LIGGETT DEAD IN HER 83D YEAR - Born Near Boyce Station She Had Spent Nearly Her Entire Life Canonsburg -- MRS. JANE LIGGETT, a lifelong resident of Canonsburg and vicinity, died at the residence of her nephew, HARRY D. HAVLIN, North Central Avenue, Saturday morning at 3 o'clock. Mrs. Liggett would have been 83 years of age if she had lived until the 27th of October. She had always been an active women and had enjoyed good health until stricken a few months ago. Her husband, DAVID LIGGETT, died many years ago. She was a daughter of the late DELL WEAVER, a well known blacksmith of Canonsburg. She was the last of a family of nine children. Mrs. Liggett was born near Boyce Station and came to Canonsburg with her parents when she was quite a small girl. She was an estimable woman and was loved by a wide circle of friends, being of a jovial and kindly nature, which endeared her to all who knew her. She was a consistent member of the First Presbyterian Church and was always to be found at the church services. Mrs. Liggett is survived by one son, ARCHIBALD D. LIGGETT of Canonsburg. The funeral services will be held at the Havlin home, North Central Avenue, Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and will be in charge of the Rev. G. G. Kerr. The interment will be in the Hill Church Cemetery.
