Vernon Ray Sims passed away Friday, September 9,1988, at 6:30 p.m. in the Alvarado Nursing Home after a long illness of cancer. He was 58 years of age. He was born May 17, 1930, the son of Oscar Lee Sims and Bertha Bage in Whitewright, Grayson County. Mr. Sims was a retired mill operator for Texas Steel. Survivors include one son, Dennis Ray Sims of Arlington, one daughter, Vicki Sims of Alvarado; three brothers and three sisters
