Darwin D. Andrews Sr., age 72, of Two Rivers, died Tuesday morning, July 21, 1998, at Two Rivers Community Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 24, 1998, at Emanuel United Methodist Church, Two Rivers. Pastor Roberta Thomson will officiate at the service, and entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth. Military Rites will be accorded by the Two Rivers V.F.W. and American Legion Posts.

Darwin was born August 21, 1925, in Elco, Wis., son of the late Leigh and Beatrice Beninghaus Andrews Sr. He attended Washington High School, and then joined the United States Navy in 1943. Darwin served during World War II on PT boats in the South Pacific. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart,and was honorably discharged in 1946. On February 15, 1947, he married the former Ethel Clayton in Two Rivers. Darwin was employed as a tool and die maker at Paragon Electric Company for 29 years, retiring in 1987. He was a charter member of Sports Fishing, Incorporated, served as secretary of the Old Third Ward Gun Club, and was also a member of the Two Rivers V.F.W. Post #1248.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Andrews; three sons and two daughters-in-law; two daughters and sons-in-law; 10 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; five sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Donald Koeser; two brothers, Douglas and Leigh Andrews Jr.

Friends may call at Klein & Stangel Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-8 p.m., on and Friday at Emanuel United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
