Winifred L. Bruechert, age 78, a resident of the Village Green West Apartments in Two Rivers, died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at the Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 19, 2004, at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot, with the Rev. Robert Johannes officiating with entombment in the Knollwood Mausoleum, Highway 310 in Manitowoc.

Winifred was born Aug. 6, 1925, in Two Rivers, to late Fred and Lillian Mandel Vanderbusch and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of the Washington High School in Two Rivers, graduating with the class of 1943. She married William 0. Bruechert, and he preceded her in death in 1984. Winifred was employed at Paragon Electric for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot. She enjoyed playing cards and camping at Cedar Valley for many years.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law; three sons and daughters-in-law. She is further survived by nine grandchildren, 11 great-grand-children, four special great-grandchildren, and by her sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson, David LeClair; two brothers; two sisters, and by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home, 344 S. State St., Mishicot. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Friday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mishicot, until the time of service at 11 a.m. A memorial fund has been established for St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

The Bruechert family would like to express a very special thank you to all of the caregivers at the Aurora Medical Center, for the special care, and concerns shown to Winifred and our family during her illness.
