Michael P. Deprey, age 71, of Two Rivers, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 26, 2004, at his residence with his family at his side, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish, Holy Redeemer Site, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William G. 0'Brien with entombment to follow in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Highway 310, Manitowoc. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the VFW and American Legion Post of Two Rivers.

Mike was born Feb. 14, 1933, in Algoma, son of the late Ms. Frances Deprey and was raised by his aunt and uncle, the late Peter and Adele Deprey, Two Rivers. He attended school in Two Rivers and was a graduate of Washington High School with the class of 1951. Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea from 1952 to 1956. On May 15, 1954, he was united in marriage to LaVerne Hoida at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers.

Mike was employed with the Manitowoc-Two Rivers Herald Times Reporter for 27 years in advertising sales. He later worked for the Two Rivers Senior Center and Estran Corp. before becoming assistant manager of Speedway Gas
Station, Two Rivers. He retired from Speedway after its closing in 1996. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Parish and past member of the Two Rivers Kiwanis Club. He was financial secretary of the Catholic Order of Forresters and provided lawn care and snow removal services for many neighborhood friends.

He was preceded in death by his special brother, Virgil Deprey and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Anna Hoida.

Friends may call at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 7:45 p.m., led by Father Bill. Visitation will continue on Monday at the church after 10 a.m. untilthe time of mass at 11 a.m.

The family extends a special thank you to Holy Family Cancer Care Center University of Wisconsin-Madison Hospital, and Holy Family Memorial Hospice Team for all the compassionate care and kindness shown to Mike throughout his illness.
