Bertha Lee Edds Kennedy, 96, of Columbus died at 5:32 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at her home.
Mrs. Kennedy had been employed at the former Reliance Mfg. Co. and Arthur Jay Company for 37 years, retiring as a bookkeeper in 1970. After retirement, she assisted her husband in managing Kennedy's Mobile Home Manor, a mobile home court they constructed and had owned and operated since 1951.
She attended Columbus First Church of the Nazarene and was a member of Bartholomew County Senior Center and Reliance Lunch Bunch.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Bryan Solomon officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.

Born in Madison on Oct. 5, 1911, Mrs. Kennedy was the daughter of Alva and Addie Mae Simpson Edds. She married Norton E. Kennedy on Feb 1, 1936. He preceded her in death Oct. 10, 1987.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral for Bertha Lee Edds Kennedy, 96, of Columbus was conducted Saturday at Myers-Reed Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Solomon officiating. Shirley day was organist.
Entombment was at Garland Brook Mausoleum. Pallbearers were Gordon Lake, Tom Morone, Richard Garrison, Steve Griner, William Ellwood and Ron Shadley.
Mrs. Kennedy died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, at her home.
