Ralph E. Shelton, 79, of 14th Street died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, at his home.

He was retired as credit manager after 43 years with Arvin Industries Inc. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, Columbus Senior Center and American Legion, and he was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II where he served as a staff sergeant. He lived in Columbus 53 years.

Funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Myers Funeral Service, Hathaway-Myers Chapel, on Pearl Street, with the Rev. Mark R. Teike officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday. Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum where military rites will be conducted.

Memorials may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church Find Us Faithful or the American Diabetes Association.

Mr. Shelton was born in Shelbyville Jan. 9, 1919, the son of Charles and Bertha Mae Moore Shelton. He married Dorothy Schwartzkopf Oct. 19, 1947, in Columbus, and she survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Roseann Rediker of Columbus; a son, Richard L. Shelton of Columbus; and granddaughters, Amanda and Atalie Rediker.

Funeral for Ralph E. Shelton, 79, of 14th Street was conducted Tuesday at Myers Funeral Service, Hathaway-Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Mark R. Teike officiating. Ruthann Stam was organist, and Earl Stam was soloist.

Entombment was at Garland Brook Mausoleum.

Pallbearers were Don Spurgeon, Albert Shelton, Ronnie and Randi McDaniel, Scott Woods and Dennis Rediker.

Mr. Shelton died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, at his home.
