After serving as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, Raymond married the love of his life, Jean. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University (B.S.) and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, Rutgers University. He was a member and past president of the Arlington Rotary Club. He also served as President and Vice Chairman of the Board of the Robert Morris Associates (RMA), and founded and served as the chairman of the Board of Regents of the Florida RMA School of Commercial Lending. Prior to his retirement, Raymond was an Executive Vice President of SunTrust Bank.
During retirement, Raymond and his wife Jean traveled the world. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jacksonville, Florida, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include Jean, his beloved wife; son, Charles Miller (Peggy); daughters, Gail Miller (Steve Kaplan), Laura Andrew, Susan Danhauser (Ron) and Julie Miller-Steffen (Pete Steffen); grandchildren, Michael Andrew, Thomas Hartley, Emily Hartley, Brooke Miller, and Anna Miller; sisters Joan Ehrman (Ray) and Violet Newberger (Fred); and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 12th at Holy Family Catholic Church with Monsignor Mortimer Danaher and Fr. Gregory Fay as Celebrants. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Family Catholic School, 9800-3 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, Florida, 32256, or Community Hospice Foundation, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257.
