George Washington Barngrover, 79, pioneer cattle and oil man of Liberty county, died at his home in Daisetta Tuesday.
He had been a resident of the county for 52 years.
Two sons, Mason and George Barngrover of Daisetta, and one daughter, Mrs. Tina Fruzia (Fregia), survive him.
It was on the property of Mr. Barngrover that one of the first wells of the Hull oil field was brought in in 1918. Becoming wealthy, he extended his farming and engaged in cattle raising.
