His great musical talent can be heard on the albums, "Rapture" (1986), "All By Myself" (1987), "Sweet Vibrations" (1980), "What Color Is Love" (1973), "I Just Can't Help Myself" (1975), "Just A Stone's Throw Away" (1977), "Wild Child" (1978) and "Chanson" (1978). Myrick also performed on the Phil Collins hit "One More Night". Myrick was killed July 30, 1993, while police were serving a search warrant. Santa Monica Police said Officer Gary Barbaro fired one shot after mistaking a butane lighter in Myrick's hand for a weapon. Myrick's family settled a wrongful-death lawsuit against the city of Santa Monica for $400,000. The settlement ended litigation brought by Myrick's mother, wife and three daughters.
