Died Saturday, Dec. 24, 1994, at 4:10 a.m. at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 76, a longtime resident of Jackson and native of Winnfield. He was a retired Villa Feliciana Hospital maintenance superintendent. Visiting at Second Baptist Church, Jackson, 5 p.m. Monday until religious services at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Roger Mitchell. Burial in church cemetery.

Survived by wife, Mary Bueche Cooper, Jackson; three daughters and three sons-in-law, Betty C. and Buddy Knox and Margie C. and Curtis Addison, all of Baton Rouge, and Debbie C. and Jody Watson, Jackson; three sons and three daughters-in-law, John E. and Kathy Cooper, Baton Rouge, Kenneth and Donna Cooper and Gary F. and Sue Cooper, all of Jackson; a sister, Martha Postell, Dallas, Texas; two brothers, James Cooper, Pearl River, and Tom Cooper, Columbia; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Kevin Cooper; a grandson, James Nelson Knox; and a great-grandson, Zachary Wilson.

Pallbearers will be Will Worley, Willie Williams, Wayne Rushing, Marlin McGehee, Dexter Stevens and Locklin Perry.

Honorary pallbearers are grandsons and members of Second Baptist Church.
