He was former president of Weatherford College and Ranger Junior College. He had been supervisor of the Texas Land Office's veterans land program since January 1953.
Dr. Boswell was former dean of McMurry College in Abilene, Texas and a regent of Texas Southern University of Houston. He was a long time Rotarian, having served as president of the Weatherford and Ranger clubs.
A Methodist steward for 37 years, he received his BA degree from East Texas State, his MA from Simmons University in Abilene and his L.L.D. from Texas Wesleyan. He also attended Southern Methodist, University of Texas, Trinity and Southwest Texas State.
Survived by his wife; two daughters; one son.
