ALTICK, Robert L. age 67 of Kettering, Ohio passed away at his residence on Saturday, August 23, 2008 following an extended illness. He was born in Dayton, Ohio to the late David and Dorothy (Wilkins) Altick. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Paulette (Manfredo) Altick; daughter, Michele D. (Michael) Clark; sisters, Alice (Jerry) Kermeen, Theresa (Carter) Hamilton, Mary Baudendistel, sister-in- law; Connie (Joseph) Daugherty of New Jersey; brothers, Thomas (Barbara) Altick, John (Clara) Altick, Timothy (Debra) Altick; granddaughter, Antonia M. Clark, and many nieces and nephews. Robert served as a U.S. Marine in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. As a dedicated police officer and detective he retired after 25 years of service to the Kettering Police Department. Robert was a loving and spirited man who will be "royally" missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church 4500 Ackerman Blvd. Kettering, Ohio 45429. Friends and family may call at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL 5471 Far Hills Ave. from 5pm-7:30 pm on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 with a memorial service following at 7:30 pm. Private interment to follow at a later date.
