Eldred Walter Taylor was born on September 5, 1877 in Liberty Township, Warren County, Iowa, the son of Thomas H. Taylor, who was born May 8, 1837 in England, and Mary Magdalene Richardson, who was born c. 1846. Their children include:

It is not known how long Walter and Lena were married or what became of her, whether they were divorced in the 1900'sor 1910's or whether she died. What is known is that by 1907, Walter Eldred Taylor was in Washington State and married. His first child, Robert W. Taylor, was born c. 1906/07 in Washington State, but whether his mother was Lena or Walter's 2nd wife, Mary Luella Herman, is not known at this time. I have yet to find any of the Taylor family in the 1910 census.

On ___________ __, 194__, Eldred Walter Taylor was married 3rd to Mildred (__________) ___________, who had been married previously and had one daughter Jackie. Mildred was born on September 7, 1903. On Memorial Day of 2015, Jackie (__________) Crozier sent me an email stating, "My mother & I moved out to Washington from Wisconsin in 1946 & I went to live in Renton, Washington with an aunt & uncle. My mother went to Western State Hospital to work & in those days employees could live on the grounds. She met Eldred Walter Taylor there whom was a male supervisor. I believe they got married in 1947 or 1948. I lived with them some of my school years, the rest of the time I lived with my aunt & uncle. He went by the name of Walter, not Eldred. My mother died in 1979 & is buried on top of him in the National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. He was an intelligent man and was very kind to me. I do not recall him telling me that his father had been in the Civil War but of course that was long ago. If you have any further questions let me know. Jackie"

Eldred Walter Taylor died on Dec. 16, 1964 and his mortal remains were laid in the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon. Mildred (__________) ___________ Taylor died on March 24, 1979 and as stated above, to conserve burial space, was buried on top of his burial site.
