Thomas W. Edwards III, age 92, of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at the St. Joseph Care Center in Louisville. He was born in Alliance, OH, March 2, 1911, to the late Thomas W. and Anna Mae (Tanner) Edwards, Jr. Tom graduated from Louisville High School in 1929 and attended Mount Union College one year. He was a practicing CPA 54 years before retiring in 1990. He was the former owner of Edwards Accounting and Tom Edwards Ford in Louisville. Tom was a member of the Paradise United Church of Christ in Louisville, Juilliard Lodge # 460 F & AM of Louisville, Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Tadmor Temple of Akron, Junior Order United American Mechanics and a charter member of the Akron Ohio CPA Society. He was a former member of the Louisville Rotary, Canton Elks and the Canton Jaycees. He was Louisville Citizen of the Year in 1997 and served on the Louisville School Board for 24 years. He was one of the founding members of the Louisville Scholarship Foundation and he was inducted into the Louisville Hall of Achievement in 1998. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Jane (Mrs. Charles) Laughlin and Anna (Mrs. Albert) Flitcraft. Tom is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lucille (nee Hammontree); a daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and A. Dale Harsh of Chagrin Falls, OH; four sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Judy (Rastetter) Edwards IV, Jim and Mary (Ross) Edwards, all of Louisville, Terry Edwards of Phoenix, Rex and Donna (Paxton) Edwards of Louisville; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Ted Robson of Malvern, Doris Zancourides of Canton, Margaret and Charles Sluss of Minerva, Shirley and Hugh Howes of North Canton; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Dorothy Edwards; 13 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
