Kind fellow contributor ATJ writes: "Chances are this is a Van Etten family member, variants Vannatta, Van Etta, etc. This is an early family in the valley, arriving at about the same time as the Van Aukens. The Capt. Johannes Van Etten (1732-1815) farm & burial ground is straight up the River Rd, Rt 209, on the Conashaugh Creek in Pike Co. PA."

There is no date information presently for this burial.

How this memorial was found: The quoted article below was a public notice intended to help locate next of kin for people buried in this cemetery, as the planned Tocks Island Dam project would have left them underwater.

NOTICE

This is the second of a series af Notices by Gannett Fleming Corddry and Carpenter, Inc., Engineers, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for information needed by them to complete a survey and report concerning the existing cemeteries on the Pennsylvania side of the proposed Tocks Island Lake. The survey is being made for the Philadelphia District, Corps of Engineers, for the purpose of determining the actual number of graves, the names of the deceased, and the names and addresses of the next-of-kin or nearest living relative.

This Notice seeks information about the following cemetery located in Middle Smithfield Township, Monroe County:

- ELIZABETH SCHOONOVER PLOT -

Located along Hogback Road and known locally as THE INDIAN CEMETERY. The following names, or initials, were taken from headstones:
