Henrietta Blanchard was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Sledd, Sr. and was the twin sister of Rosietta. She was raised by her mother's sister, Ealy McNichols, after her parents died suddenly. She also had a younger brother, L. John Sledd. She was a student in East Chicago, Indiana and graduated from Roosevelt High School. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Mizpah in Gary, Indiana and a member at Hyde Park Church in Chicago. She was married to Michael A. Blanchard and had 2 children, Michael Jr. and Willa. She was a hard worker for the Lake Region Conference for over 40 years and will be greatly missed.
