"734. Samuel Eastman, born in Mt. Vernon, Me., Oct. 27, 1784; died in Strong, Me., Jan. 20, 1864; married March 22, 1807, Jane Hitchcock, born Sept. 29, 1786, died in Strong, Me., July 10, 1865. Mr. Eastman resided in Strong, Me., where he was a local justice of some note. He was at one time a state senator, and a captain in the militia.

i. William H., b. April 13, 1808; d. in Green Bay, Wis., Jan. 10, 1887; m. Feb. 20, 1832, Eliza A. Norris. Child: (a) Lucy, b. ___; m. Dr. B. C. Brett, and lives at Green Bay, Wis.
ii. Hiram, b. Sept. 10, 1809; d. Oct. 4, 1809.
iii. Samuel, b. Oct. 1810; d. in New Orleans, Oct. 2, 1832; unm. iv. Benjamin C., b. Oct. 24, 1812; d. in Plattsville, Wis.; m. 1841, Charlotte S. Sewell. They had no children. He was a prominent lawyer, and a member of congress from Wisconsin.
v. Julia A., b. April 2, 1815; d. in Strong, Me., Nov. 3, 1887.
vi. Ezekiel Porter, b. June 18, 1817; d. in Lynn, Mass., Feb. 18, 1860.
vii. Harry Eugene, b. .May 3, 1819; d. in Benton Harbor, Mich.; m. March 2, 1843, Elizabeth W. Arndt. He was a colonel in the Rebellion; d. March 22, 1898.
viii. John Albert, b. March 4, 1821; d. in Benton Harbor, Mich., April 11, 1895; m. Jan. 6, 1848, Helen M. Darling.
ix. Mary Jane, b. Nov. 24, 1822; d. at sea, June 14, 1848; m. Capt. Augustus Hitchcock, of Damariscotta, Me.
x. George W., b. March 29, 1824; m. Annie Monroe; resides in Plattsville, Wis.
xi. Frances A., b. July 10, 1826; d. in Strong, Me., Oct. 31, 1845.
xii. Henry Clay, b. Dec. 14, 1830; d. Nov. 14, 1882."
