Eliza was born to David Barrow and Elizabeth Young. She married Joshua Brummet 9 Dec 1839 in Monroe County, Indiana. He died in 1846 in the Mexican War. She and Joshua had two daughters: Mary Brummet Baker (1841-1861)and Nancy Louisa Brummet Ireland (1845-1905).
Eliza married John Grimes 26 Sep 1850 in Brown County, Indiana. They moved to Lucas County, Iowa around 1855. Eliza and John had six children: Emily Adeline, James Marion, John D., Allen P., Ellen, and Walter W.
