The premises occupied many years by him as a homestead, in this Record, and in rememoration of him are called the "Andrew Needham Place". He was a sober, steady, industrious, honest man, also economical, fugal, observant of due cautiousness to keep his expenditures within the circumference of his income, likewise a mand of good intellect, strong mind, sound judgement. His tenaceousness of his rights was strong, but not irrepessibly so - it was guided and controlled so completely by his good sense and overseness to strife, as seldom or never to lead him into contentions or disputations. Always desirous to shun dispates himself, he was disinclined to instigate others to quarreling; was never a news monger, or retailer of news, slander, or evil-speaking among his neighbors, was not a "busy-body" in other mens matters, but sought his livelihood by attentiveness to his own business. For his virtues do we commend and recommend him to the respectful remembrance of all the unders hereof.
