RIO/WYOCENA - Victoria C. "Vicky" Jameson, age 84, formerly of Rio, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 21, 2006, at Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena. She was born on Oct. 1, 1921, in the Township of Dekorra, the sixth of eight children to James and Sena (Anderson) Jameson. The Jameson family eventually moved to Rio, where Vicky attended Rio High School. She graduated in 1939 and was valedictorian of her class. She then went onto Janesville and attended a secretary college and worked in Janesville for a short while.

She later moved back to Rio and worked as office manager for Oconomowoc Canning Company for 35 years. Vicky was a life long member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rio where she was very active and was president of the Naomi Circle; and was the first and only volunteer coordinator. She was also very active in the community serving on the Village board for many years, helping the VFW Auxiliary and their activities. She was also very active with the Rio Library and was instrumental in coining the slogan for the fund raiser for the new library which was "We Can Do It!" She also belonged and was active in the Rio Community Club. Amid all of her community work, she always found time for her favorite past time which was reading.

Vicky is survived by one brother, Reuben (Pearl) Jameson of Milwaukee; nephews; nieces; lifelong friend, Helen Gilbert of Rio; and many great nieces and great nephews. Vicky was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Julius, Newton, and Sidney Jameson; three sisters, Aledia Schroeder, Marie Curtis, and Lillian Jameson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at 11 a.m. at REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHURCH in Rio with the Rev. Mark Buchan officiating. Following the services, a lunch will be served in the fellowship hall. After the luncheon, burial services will take place at the Dekorra Lutheran Cemetery.
