Anton was born in Vienna Austria and twice married. He immigrated to the USA aboard the "Weser" on Jan 6, 1880. With him were his two children by his first wife Maria Weidinger (d. in childbirth 1874), Mary Theresia, age 9, and Edmund age 5, his second wife Elizabeth Jatel (m. 1875) and their child Anton M. age 6 months.

Anton and Elizabeth Jatel's daughters Rose Anna May and Elizabeth Katherine were born in Rockdale, Texas.

The Wolfs were prominent pioneer residents, arriving in Jan 1880 to the six-year-old town of Rockdale, Texas. They are remembered as proprietors of the Hotel Wolf and in the establishment of St Joseph's Catholic Church.

Wolf Park in Rockdale is the former site of the Hotel Wolf. In its day the hotel was Rockdale's finest.

Anton's obit (Cameron Courier) writes that the Wolfs spent their later years in reading and meditation, adding they could not stand to be separated form each other for any length of time.
