She attended South Cache and Weber High School. Shirley married Garlin Carr in Ogden, Utah in 1951.
She was a member of the LDS Church and served as a primary teacher and visiting teacher. She loved crochet and various other handicrafts.
She is survived by her husband Garlin; daughter Lynn Dee (Randy) Jackson; 6 grandchildren, Rick and Nick Hock, Amanda Maughan, Collin Crenshaw, Bethany George and Amy Simpson; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren Jen Cullens and Jamie Garcia and 6 step-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Joyce (Walter) Bielik and Sheilla (Terry) Ruckstuhl. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Rodney Melvin Carr and 2 daughters Kristie Kay Crenshaw and Lori Ann Ryder.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2009 at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, in Roy. Friends may call on Thursday, August 13th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.
