JOSEPH ZITTLE, a native of Boonsboro, died at the Potomac Hotel in that place, Saturday midnight, of heart failure, aged 71 years. He had been boarding at the hotel for about four weeks previous to which he was visiting among his children.
Mr Zittle served in Union Army during Civil War and was a pensioner.
Saturday evening he seemed to be in good health. His wife died about four years ago.
Surviving are: Sisters, Mrs. Henry Ford, Frederick oounty; Mrs. Wm Traver, Baltimore; brother, O. J. Zittle, of Baltimore; daughter, Mrs Anna Smith, Hagerstown; sons, Jacob D., Omaha, Neb., Charles E., Springfield, Ill.
The funeral took place yesterday afternoon, with services in the Reformed church. Boonsboro, by Rev. G. W. Snyder, and interment in Boonsboro cemetery.
