OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN) - November 10, 1939

Funeral services for Lemuel W. Hazen, 82, retired International Harvester employe and 40-year resident of Wabash, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Hoover funeral home with Rev. H.J. Weber in charge.

The death of Mr. Hazen occurred at 3:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon at his home, 325 Walnut street, after a six week's illness. The body will remain at the Hoover funeral home until the services and burial will be in Falls cemetery.

The son of Reuben [Putnam] and Jane (Berridge) Hazen, he was born in Hilton, N.Y., June 16, 1857. He was [third] married to Laura (Levesay) Miller in 1921 and was a member of the Lutheran church.

Surviving are the widow; three sons by a former marriage, Lloyd Hazen of Detroit; Lynd Hazen of South Bend, and Park Hazen of Terre Haute; six stepchildren, Dan Miller of Michigan, Mrs. Tillie Webber of Kalamazoo, Mrs. Earl Dice of Roanoke, Dewey Miller of Wabash, Mrs. Cecil Merrick of Wabash, and Mrs. Golda Reed of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren, Raymond Hazen of Detroit, Forrest Hazen of South Bend, and Myron and Louise Hazen of Terre Haute.

Lemuel's great grandparents were Edward Hazen and Mercy Haskell, who were among the earliest settlers of Pittstown (later Honeoye) town of Richmmond. Ontario Co, NY. His grandfather Lemuel was born there in 1795.
