Jonathan Osborn was one of the original settlers of Gilmer County, GA having moved there from Buncombe County (present day Henderson County), NC in the mid-1830's. Jonathan moved from Gilmer to Murray County, GA in 1859 where he lived for 10 years and fought in the Georgia State Guard in the Civil War. He then relocated to Parker County, TX sometime between 1870 and 1879 when he died. He appears in transit in the 1870 US Census in Wood County, TX.
