A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland with burial following in Parkway Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 12 Noon Saturday at the funeral home.

He leaves two sons, one of Tulsa, OK and one of Madison, Mississippi; and four grandchildren - two grandsons and two granddaughters; five great-grandchildren with one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Shirley Berry Warren.

Ted S. Warren died September 3, 2015. He was President of Bibles for Communist Lands, Inc., which he established in 1978. He attended Central High School, Mississippi State University, Jackson School of Law and five FDIC and Federal Reserve schools in Washington, DC. He was a US Army veteran who served in the Army Counter Intelligence Corp. in Berlin, Germany during the Berlin Blockade. During his time in Berlin, he was privileged to be able to help two East German citizens escape from the Russian sector of Berlin, taking them directly to Tempelhof Airport in West Berlin to be flown to West German safety. He was discharged from the Army in July 1950, just days after North Korea had attacked US Forces in South Korea. He returned to active duty three months later and served another year on active duty during the Korean War, before returning to college in January 1952. He was with Jackson-Hinds Bank for over six years before being hired by The Department of Bank Supervision, retiring from the position of Senior Bank Examiner after 30 years of service.

He became involved in evangelism work in seven Eastern European countries working with Door of Hope, International, having made 29 trips to communist countries since 1984, distributing Bibles, New Testaments, food and medicine to Christians and underground churches. He and his wife Shirley saw wonderful and miraculous things happen on some of their many trips inside communist countries. In the 1980's before communism fell, and over a period of several years, they smuggled Bibles into Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Czechoslovakia, Albania, Hungary and Yugoslavia.

Before Shirley's death in 1997, she had made many trips to all the communist countries in Europe. In 2003 and 2004, Ted had a Bible printed in Sofia, Bulgaria, as a memorial to her. The following words were printed in each of the Bibles: "in memory of Shirley Berry Warren who with love and faith served God as a missionary and Bible Distributor from 1984 until she went home to be with the Lord in 1997". In these printings were 15,000 Bulgarian New Testaments, and 35,000 Books of John, Mark and Romans. All given to prisons and churches all across Bulgaria.

Early in the 1980's, Ted started a ship ministry in New Orleans, Pascagoula, Gulfport and Mobile, distributing Bibles on ships from all over the world. The great love in his life was serving his God who had given him the opportunity and great privilege of placing several hundred thousands of Bibles and Bible materials in over 50 countries around the world.

In 2004, through his good friend who was the Prison Chief of the largest prison in Bulgaria, he received the high honor of becoming a member of an exclusive club in Bulgaria called "The Republic of Bulgaria Union of Bulgarian Commandos". All members are ex-military with civic service. He had a great love for the Bulgarian people and felt that this was the greatest honor of his life. He was the only American to ever become a member of this club.
