Robert L. Draves, 80, of Mechanicsville, passed away Friday, June 13, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn M. Draves; his children, Bobbie Draves, Sandy Batten, Karen Draves, and Gregg Draves (Kelly); grandchildren, Holly Lynne Black, Jeff Black, Samantha P. Draves, Brooke Draves, and Taylor Draves; two great-grandsons, Adam Batten and Tyler Black. The family received friends Sunday, June 15, 2008 and Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Mechanicsville Chapel Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd., where a funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 17, 2008. Graveside services followed at Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Hanover Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 10058 Chamberlayne Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23116. Northside Lodge #292 AF&AM will hold a memorial service 7 p.m. Monday (today) at the funeral home.
